With our “FemAILab – Open Lab for Artificial Intelligence for Woman”, we want to offer a co-creative learning environment for female learners and trainers in which they will jointly explore and try out current AI tools and find out how to integrate them into their professional, educational and personal development.
With this, the outcomes of the project will:
- offer a playful and fear-free access to artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
- contribute to digital upskilling of women.
- help to bridge the digital gender gap at local and European level.
- reduce the shortage of skilled workers (in general and especially with IT skills)
- establish new learning formats for learning in general and for lifelong learning.
- encourage and empower female employees to become AI entrepreneurs and thus
- enable the democratization of working processes.
The project “FemAILab – Open Lab for Artificial Intelligence for Woman” focuses two pillars:
(1) the learning setting: accompanied learning journey to collaborative learning between learners and teachers at eye level and in an open, hybrid (digital and presence) space. Supported by a method that provides a learning structure that is based on existing systems such as Working out Loud (WOL), LernOS and TLC (Transformative Learning Circle),
(2) the learning content: Selection of various AI tools and applications for learning and imparting digital and professional skills. This selection will be adapted to the individu-al inquiries and needs of the participants and the current status of AI tools (e.g., GPT 5, end of 2024).
The role of STEP Institute
STEP will be actively involved in all activities – we will design the adaptive learning setting and content for the FemAILab, where female teachers and learners co-create their individual learning journeys to AI applications. We will test run this FemAILab in both partner countries and then evaluate which elements of it will be integrated in the adapted version, which we will then share with other learning professionals in our regional networks and in Europe.
